Wilson's

I wanted to share a picture from my visit to Idaho. While I was there our dear friends Devon and Stacy Wilson drove to Idaho Falls from Boise (a 4 hour drive) to spend the afternoon with me. It was wonderful Devon, Matt and I all graduated from BYU-Idaho Horticulture program April 07'. Matt and Devon both took jobs with the same small company in California and we lived across the street from each other while we were there. Stacy and I both had little girls just 3 weeks a part last year. They are wonderful friends and we miss them alot. Hopefully, they will make it to North Carolina to visit in April.

She's Off!

So it finally happened on January 10, Keeley started to really crawl not just back up or scoot. It has actually been a lot of fun. She follows me everywhere and I no longer have to haul her. She has gotten into a few things and we are working on teaching her that the TV and Antenna are not toys. She has also discovered dog food, I spend a good portion of each day chasing her away from the dog food. However, I have done well to not put things up. We locked the cabinets with chemicals in them and put plugs in the outlets and that is it. I really want her to learn limits. She knows when she is in trouble and she turns around and crawls as fast as she can to get away. I think it is funny. Here is a little video of her going for Riddle's food. Riddle doesn't think this crawling thing is cool at all. Keeley likes to sneak up on Riddle when she is taking a nap in the sun. This really upsets Riddle.

"And Here We Have Idaho"

Nana and Pappy bought Keeley and I a ticket to go home to Idaho for a few days last week. Although it was short we had a lot of fun.

Keeley got her first experience with snow while we visited. Mom and Dad bought her her first snow suit. The first day the sun was so bright she could barely see.
We thought she may have even fallen asleep.


The second day was much more eventful. She had a blast! I think she would have stayed out for several more hours if I hadn't made her come in. Dad and I pushed her down this hill probably 50 times.

There is a tradition that started with the Evarts family. Because we always lived across the country from my Mom's parents when we came to visit they tried really hard to make things special. So they started "Grampy's Toy Shop". They would stock up the toy shop before we came and then once we arrived every so often Grampy would go and get a prize from the toy shop. Now, in Sean and my mind the toy shop was lined with gold had little elves like Santa Workshop but was located at my grandparents. Pretty lucky kids huh! Well my parents have taken it to a whole other level.

1st gift-Thomas the train DVD- Cool huh! It was what Keeley got to ride from Salt Lake to Idaho Falls with.
2nd gift- A NEW Bike!-yep this was the ultimate prize. She loved it. She rode this little thing everywhere. Honked the horn. Shook it to make sure it was stable. We got a whole weeks worth of playing out of this toy.

She thought the music was the best. Ohh I love this little girl.

3rd prize- A ball popper. She didn't know what to make of this at first but soon warmed up to it. (video coming soon. I just have to find the camera. . . Matt!!)

4th- A hammer-Yep no dolls in this Shop just hammers, cars, trains and balls. Maybe they thought I had a boy :) Actually Keeley hasn't gotten to attached to dolls or teddy bears yet even though I have been trying.

This is our old rocking horse. Keeley thought it was pretty fun to ride with Mommy.

Okay you may think this post is because my comments have been weak sauce lately! But, its okay. I'm dealing with it appropriately. I haven't been much of a commenter lately either. This was actually a request that I received. So, for those of you new to blogs here is how you post a comment.

New Calling

Matt was sustained last week as the Young Mens 1st Counselor. Between this and his calling as Scout Master (that he won't be released from) he should stay very busy. These are both new callings to him and I think he is pretty excited. He is finally getting the hang of all the scout stuff so it is good time to pick up a few extra responsibilities. I know many people who are sever in church position that take much more time but I'm proud of Matt for how he handles everything. He works very hard to balance all of his responsibilities as a husband, a father, a provider, a designer, a friend, a home teacher, a scout master and now a counselor. I grateful that he works so hard for us.

New Years Celebration

Pete, Kenz, Nathan and Hailee came to visit us for New Years before they returned to Seattle.
It was so wonderful to have them in our home. We celebrated the New Year by devouring an entire batch of Muddy Buddies and watching Outsourced. We casually all woke up after the move and waited for the clocks to turn but we still managed to miss the ball drop by a few seconds. Okay so it sounds super boring but we loved it!!! It was very kick back and we couldn't have had better company. When Pete and Kenz are around I fell like all we do is laugh. I have no idea anymore what was so funny New Years Eve night but I can remember the tears streaming down my face beacuse we were laughing so much. Good times!
