Happy Anniversary!

Matt and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary tonight! A day early but Matt has scouts tomorrow. We went to a local German restaurant. It was wonderful although we had Keeley afraid to leave her with anyone in case she had a break down.
Tonight at Dinner 8/26/2008I'm so grateful to have found Matt. I love him so much and feel so fortunate that he is the man I get to raise our children with. As many of you know our past year has been full of several trials from losing jobs last winter to the recent sounds of Keeley. But we have made it one more year. Matt told me tonight it sure seems like we have been doing this for more than two years. I have to agree. But there have been some pretty wonderful times that make it go so fast. I think sometimes we seem to forget all the wonderful things we have done. This is a walk down memory lane for Matt to see all the great thing we have done in just the past two years. I know that we have many trials ahead of us and many wonderful moments as well because this is just the beggining. I love you Matt.

Take A Deep Breath

So, after my last post of desperation things have gotten so much better. Here is the story. . .

A day after my last post I headed to a play group with some girls in our ward. After I left I went to the store. Matt had been telling everyone that our fridge was as bare as his college fridge. So feeling guilty I made it a point to finally get some food. By the time I got to the store Keeley had woke up and started to fuss. With in minutes we were to a full bore scream that continued the entire hour I was at the store. Without exaggeration over 20 people offered help and consolation (which actually just slowed me down and didn't help, but I guess it is suppose to be the thought that counts). I got to the check out stand and couldn't find my wallet. Yep I had left it at home on the counter. I called Matt at least 10 times but he was out of service and Keeley continued to scream. Finally someone who works at the store approached and offered help. I told her I was going to have to go and asked is she wouldn't mind putting away my perishables. I felt so guilty but I was nearly in tears (I held out until I got to the car and could call my Mom).

So that experience did it for me and the remainder of the evening Keeley screamed which did it for Matt. I called the doctor in the morning and we headed back in for what is becoming our weekly appointment. He did the typical once over as we pleaded with him for help. When they weighed her she had lost an ounce in the past week. He finally suggested switching her to Nutramigen formula.

So, long story short. We did it and things have been the difference of night and day since. She is happy pleasant and the baby I thought she should be. She is eating again and sleeping. I think that stuff works miracles. Too bad it is so expensive, nearly double the price of regular formula. Whatever the price it is worth it. Thanks everyone for all your comments we are using most of them to get all the help we can.

HELP!!!

So just as I thought that Keeley's colic was getting better it took a dive into the deep. It is worse than it has ever been. I took her back into the doctors because I thought something had to be wrong. She startles and then precedes to scream several times a day. Some days it is manageable but the past three have not been. Cry is upwards of 6-8 hours a day. I'm losing my mind. The doctor has given her medicine but unlike the colic she use to have it isn't at a predictable time anymore. So it is hard for me to guess when to give her medicine to avoid the fit. I'm going to try a new swaddling blanket to see if it helps to keep her trapped so she will at least sleep some.

So here are my worries/problems.
The crying. . .any remedies or suggestions to help her settle down?
Sleep. . .because she screams so much she doesn't sleep hardly at all. When she does sleep she startles every 15 minutes or so. Yesterday Keeley only got 2 hours of sleep from 10 am to 9 pm.
What do I do?

A Few Other Pictures and Stories

So it has started. Keeley took her first real roll last Thursday (8/14) at only 11 weeks. Now almost every time I go to get her when she wakes up from a nap she is stuck on her belly. I guess it will encourage her to learn to roll back because she hates it.

A hug for Daddy

Cousins Come to Visit-Orson just turned two and Heidi (Matts sister) is expecting baby number 4 in December. I don't think he is quite ready to give up his spot as the baby by the way he took to Keeley's swing and car seat. What do you think?

Baby Toys

It amazes me how many toys these little ones require.

At only 12 weeks we have . . .

  1. Kick and Play
  2. Swing
  3. Bumbo
  4. Boppy
  5. Floor Mat
Plus all the little add ons! I can only imagine what 1 year will look like.

Visit to Idaho

Keeley andI got to go visit Idaho the first week of August. We had a wonderful time.

Matt dropped us off at the airport for Keeley's first plane ride. Which went great, everyone next to me said how lucky I was.
Pappy and KeeleyUncle Sam won Keeley over immediately.
One day we rented a boat and went wakeboarding. It was a lot of fun, Keeley especially enjoyed herself outside all day.

Mom and Nanny send me the picture you have. I don't have any of you guys or any of the entire family. Thanks!

8 Week Check Up

Keeley keeps growing. She is way off the charts on height now at 24.5" and at the 50% on weight at 11lbs 2 ounces. She is my little weed.

Baby Pictures

We finally got Keeley's blessing pictures and I must say they turned out even better than I expected. We used Kristi Sheriff in Idaho Falls. She also took the pictures of our wedding and is amazing. Because she is a very pricey we won't be able to get all of them but we wanted to share with you all our beautiful little girl. Check out the link it expires 8/28.

The Final Move (at least for a while)

Yeah it's over! We have moved 5 times in the last 14 months. Needless to say I'm glad it is over. We still have a lot of painting and some cleaning to do but it will get done in the next few months. I thought I would share some pictures.

Riddle doesn't like moving. She is always afraid we will leave her. Usually we let her wait in the car while we pack because she feels better that way. This day it was too hot for her to sit in the car so she was upset and jumped in the trunk to be sure we didn't forget her.
