New Milestone

Keeley has been growing up so much in the past few days/weeks. Here is a list of all the new things she is doing:

• Laughing:her laugh is really deep most of the time. My mom said mine was as well.
  
• Reaching and Grabbing: She reaches and grabs toys or her blankets. She also likes to grab our food if she is sitting on our lap while we eat and my hair seems to be a favorite.
• Putting herself to sleep when she is tired: This one may be my favorite. She will fall asleep in her stroller or our arms even if she isn't swaddled. Yay!
• Happy Baby: She has really made some improvements on the crying. It just seems to be getting better all the time. It has made things alot happy for our entire family. WE go to the doctor next week and we will see what he says about keeping her on the formula or if she even needs it.
• Slobber: Oh yeah that is fun. She soaks everything the instant I put it on her. So she is kept in bibs most of the day so that I don't have to change outfits all the time.
  
• Rolling both ways: Keeley still won't go to her back from her stomach but she does roll left and right from her back to her stomach.
• Spinning and scooting: She will spin herself in a circle to watch you do something or push herself off the floor mat is she is done playing. I'm hoping this doesn't lead to crawling anytime soon.

Caught it. Keeley has her feet wrapped around the little birdy trying to make it stop moving.

Happy Girl

Ring a Links. Keeley's new favorite toy is the links. She would rather play with what I use to attach her toys to the gym then the actual toy. Oh well. . .I see a lot of new toy boxes becoming favorites in our future.

Climber Girl. Forget belly time on the Boppy. Keeley now just pulls herself over it. This is her on her way back down. I'm hoping it is practice for larger rocks one day.

My two girls. A side note, Riddle suffered from what is very similar to a human stroke on Wednesday. She seems to be recovering but still struggles to walk and often gets confused. She doesn't seem to be in any pain though. We won't know until Monday if she will recover or if we will need to put her down. She is 14 now. She has been apart of my life as long or longer than most of my friends from Elementary School. I'm praying that I don't have to say goodbye yet.

Saturday Sanity. Keeley loves to mow the lawn with Daddy. She usually falls asleep right away, so maybe it is me that loves her to mow the lawn with Matt. It gives me a break to get some things done. This day was exceptionally cold so she was all bundled up.
Laundry day. Even though she is only at the 40% percentile on weight she stills has enough chub for a double chin, thats my girl!


New Trick. The only way I can get Keeley to stay on her back is to dangle this odd creature above her so she can practice grabbing it.
Well she just woke up that is my cue to be done! Have a great weekend everyone.

An Update

Myrtle Beach Marathon
So previously I had said that we were going to run the Kiawah Half Marathon but we tried to register and it was already full. So, we made a few adjustments and here is our official race plans (because I already registered). November 15, Richmond 8K and on February 14 the Myrtle Beach BiLo Marathon. Yes, a full 26.2 miles. Mark, Matt's dad, will be running with us for both races. He is definitely in better shape than either of us but I hope that as Matt and I age we will continue to have the same drive he does. I'm excited and nervous. Registering makes everything so real. Considering that I'm thrilled with myself today for running(really it is more like slogging, a very slow form of jogging and walking) just 3 little miles tells you how far I have left to go!

Allergies
So apparently September is the season for allergies here in North Carolina. Keeley and I both got a good case just over the weekend. I can deal with it but poor little Keeley. We even have her bed on an incline so that it drains the fluid out better. Her nose just won' t stop, plus she is sneezing, coughing and has itchy eyes. She is trying so hard to be good still but we have had a few restless night. I hope it ends soon! Any suggestions for allergies for a 14 week old? (Rebecca?)

Church News
So, it happened . . .a few weeks back Matt and I were both extended callings. I'm back in primary (this doesn't surprise me) with the exact same age group as I had in California. The class is the CTR 5 class which is the 5-6 year olds. Except this time rather than four to six kids each week I have 9-12. They are good kids and if I'm in primary this is definitely the age I like to have. They say funny things all the time which makes it all worth it (i.e my grandma has butt sores). Also, Matt was called to be the Scout Assistant. I think that it is a wonderful calling. One that I would love, if I could be a scout master. Ohh well I'll just settle for a scout masters wife! Also, we are giving talks next weekend. The usual welcome to a ward, your turn to give a talk deal. At least Gail will be in town to help take care of Keeley while we are on the stand.

Under Construction

I'm trying to convert to a three column blog. So be patient as I work through the bugs. Hopefully everything will be back up and going soon.

Cable and Kiawah Island Marathon

So I said goodbye to cable this week. Matt and I have fought getting cable (or a TV for that matter) for years but when I was a mere 55 lbs heavier than I have ever been I gave in. But now that the Olympics are over and it is starting to cool down we said goodbye.

Also, Matt and I are signing up for a half marathon on December 6, maybe it will help me lose the last 10 lbs that won't seem to go away. It is the Kiawah Island Marathon. My goal is to do a full marathon before I have a second baby. And between babies two and three to do a triathlon. But I'm just taking it one step at a time right now though. Keeley isn't quite able to sit up in my jogger so we run with the big stroller. It is quite a site. Here is the link to the Marathon if you want to check it out. Kiawah Island Marathon

Hopefest 2008

Matt and I to finish finish up our anniversary got tickets to Hopefest 2008. They are a group that raises money for AIDS/HIV in Africa good cause, plus it was a sweet concert program. They held it in Cary just an hour and a half north of us. We went in the evening to see Colbie Caillat and Edwin McCain. We took Keeley because it was an outdoor festival. However, the second we showed up it began to rain and the rain turned into a down pour. They obviously had to stop the entire concert. We waited for two hours. It was kinda fun though we just hung out and watched the lightening light up the trees. Here is a video of the storm. I was trying to keep Keeley dry while she ate!


When they rain hadn't let up they moved some of the artist under the area where we were sitting and they sang acoustic. It was awesome. We ended up having some of the best seats in the house. Here is a dark picture of Edwin McCain.



After the storm cleared they discovered it had gotten to the equipment so Colbie Caillat also played acoustic. It was very kick back. Nearly everyone had left so she played for probably only 500 people compared to the 300o or so that were there when we got there. Here is Bulbbly:



We had a great time even with all the set backs.

Mom's Girl

She looks a lot like me as a baby in the picture. However, she is much thinner. I can thank Matt for that contribution.

Sunday Walk

A few weeks ago after church we headed out for a little walk. Keeley loves being outside!

A Poopy Story

So it was bound to happen and although many of you I'm sure could do with out these pictures they have been added so one day when Keeley looks through this blog book I can say "Look what you put me through!"

Not much to tell. I was in the middle of changing her when she decided she had to go. I had her feet pulled back and I think that is what induced it. She fired away all over the walls, outfits, floors and of course me. This is what remained on the changer after a little clean up. What mess. Thank heavens for oxy clean. This is only after she peeded twice and pooped all down my outfit at the photographers during the naked baby pictures posted earlier. I ended up all over the photographers carpet and nice blankets. Fortunately she was very understanding.
