4 months

Okay we are taking a break from my back blogging to tell you about this little cutie.

Isn't she perfect. She has grown far to quickly for my liking. I was so excited everytime Keeley did something new as a baby but with Brinley I just want to hold on to her being little for more time. Things are crazy around our house, like always. Infact, Matt is in the middle of switching jobs which came 2 weeks earlier than we expected. Gotta love employers! But this little girl brings alot of happiness to us both. How can you be down when you look at a face like that. I took her into the Doctor today and here are her stats.

25.5 " -95th percentile
12 pounds 14 ounces -38th percentile

She is as healthy as can be but even skinnier than Keeley if that is possible. Matt and I both thought she was so chunky but I guess not. The doctor made a note that she was slowing down in her growth but said that she looked healthy and just to start her on solids in the next month to help her chunk up.

She has the cutest little chuckle. She always laughs with single sounds usually three single sounds to be exact. If you walk past her and don't stop to say hi she screams at you. Brinley loves attention.

She thinks her sister is so interesting but hates it when Keeley screams, then again who doesn't!

She started rolling in the past two weeks. Mostly from belly to back but she can be found under tables or falling of a couch with her aching back scoot that she has mastered.
Yes, her hair is still red and we love it! Once in a while we see the red head show through with a demanding act of "I must have it right now." Other than that Brinley is just as perfect as can be.
We love you baby girl, you are such a wonderful part or our lives. YOu make the stress melt away withthat little smile.

June

Lets see things here are as busy as usual so here is a very quick recap of June.

Brinley the burrower. This baby love a good snuggle session. Even if it is with the boppy.

Dad was here. Actually he comes back today. Wow I am really behind.
Brinley is almost as big as Keeley bu Keeley loves holding her "lil' sesiter."
Just cause she is cute.
Brinley was blessed. It was beautiful. What a blessing it is to me to have the priesthood in my home. Brinley was great and very beautiful.
Mark and Gail came to visit for the blessing. In the circle was , Randy Pope, Josh Draughon, Bishop David Lockhart, Randy Newcomer, Roland Garret, Mark Roberts and of Course Matt who gave the blessing.

Keeley got into my makeup again. I swear I never learn but she has and now she tries to properly apply mascara.
Happy Fourth. Keeley was sick for the 4th again! But we still enjoyed a few sparklers.

Veggies, Veggies, Veggies!

Okay that is reader digest version of June and the first week of July.

On a side note, I have been doing a little design work and started a design company called Schon Designs. I'll have the website up soon to share with everyone.

Garden Party

Flowers, bugs, sticks and mud
beware this post may get messy!

Saturday Keeley celebrated her 2nd birthday with this crazy party! Flowers, bugs, sticks and mud all favorites of Keeley's made this Garden party perfect for the 2 year olds we invited.

We had some fun planting flower pots and digging in mud (pudding), and dirt (oreo's) to find worms. below Sommer, Keeley, Ginger

Sommer caught a juicy one.
Then we had a round at the Pinata and it broke perfectly after we got to each of the children.

Here is Jonas taking a swing at the flower.

Ephram and Jentry are on a mad search for all the lost candy. The pinata was filled with toy bugs in addition to the candy. Each 2 year old had a garden pot to put all their finds in.

After all that hard work it was time to eat birthday cake, terra cotta style.

Happy to you Goosey (that is how Keeley sings happy birthday)!

Now its Keeley's favorite activity for the day.

Surprise face~ That must have been a pretty cool present.
A Big thank-you hug to everyone for making this an AWESOME (a choice word of Keeley's right now) birthday.

3 Weeks of Pictures

Okay so I'm just posting a bunch of pictures together just to get them out there. Otherwise who knows how long it will be before I attempt to blog again.

The first time Keeley held Brinley they both fell asleep. Being a sister is exhausting!!!

Our baby B.

They day Brinley and I were released from the hospital mom arrived. Perfect timing.
A couple pics of Keeley just cause she is so darn cute right now.

Matt's mom came a few days after mine left. She makes quilts for all of the grandchildren. They are very impressive. She brought Brinley's quilt with her so we had to get pictures of both of the girls with their quilts.

My Dad arrives on Thursday to spend a week with us and then we are hoping the second week of June to have the Roberts and Matts sisters family here for Brinley's blessing. It's great to have such supportive family.

Brinley Birth Story

Here I am 40 weeks pregnant with Brinley!
Here I am 40 weeks pregnant with Keeley. Although I only gained 8 less pounds with Brinley I sure looks like alot more than that.

Okay so bear with me this might get lengthy, but then again it was lengthy at the time as well.

It all started on Monday April 26 when I went into the doctors. I had been dilated to a 3 for weeks and was full term so they stripped my membranes and with the hope I would be in labor that evening I began walking. Jackie, Karen and I did a little shopping and some walking at the mall as well as at Sam's Club in hopes to get this baby out. That evening when Matt got home I was having contractions 4-7 minutes apart but they weren't that strong. I hoped that if I went into the hospital they would admit me if I was dilated to a four. So we dropped Keeley at Karen's and headed to the hospital.

I was there for several hours they monitored my contractions and checked and I was a 4. After calling my doctors they decided to send me home and said "Your in labor we will probably see you in the morning. Your right on the border of staying tonight." So home I went.

Tuesday April 27
I woke up and was determined this baby would come today. I went back into the doctors, they wanted to check me again first thing. I was still a 4 and 90% effaced. Dr. Davis said "This baby will be here soon I can feel her hair."

I can't remember what we did that day all I know is that it involved walking, Karen and Jackie. That afternoon Karen and I ran a few laps at the cemetery by her house. The contractions never stopped all day and by the time we were done with the laps they were starting to have some strength behind them. Given I was a 4 that morning and contractions were between 3-6 minutes apart Matt and I decided to go in again. This time the doctor was even on the floor. I was a 5 when they checked me but my contractions were not showing any more strength than the night before. So, while the doctor delivered a baby I walked for an hour Matt. After an hour of walking I they hooked me back up to the monitors and the contractions had gotten further apart. I was bitter to say the least. When the doctor came in to send me home I was in tears. It was already after 11:00 and we picked Keeley up from Jackie's.

On another note, over the previous three days my car had begun to smell like sulfur. When I got to the hospital that night it was making me nauseous. After I parked in our garage that evening it started to even fill with house with that awful spell. It was making me sick as I laid unable to sleep do to contractions on the couch. I got up about 1am to move the car to the driveway and it wouldn't start. Perfect!

Wednesday April 28
By today I was bitter at the world, tired and determined I would end up having contractions for a week before they would do anything like break my water. We started the morning by calling to have the car towed. Then I drove Matt to work with the car. Note to husbands with short pregnant wives- WE CANT DRIVE STICK PREGNANT. I could barely push the clutch in and had to press my belly into the wheel everytime I shifted. I laid on the couch in some serious pain most of the morning. At noon I went to Jackie's. Jackie and Karen had planned a Meg pamper day for me. We ate food! They got me route 44 Coke! and Jackie gave me a pedicure! It really did help to get my mind off of things. That afternoon the contractions were so strong I was crying through them. But don't forget I dropped Matt off at work so here I am contractions every 3 minutes and bawling driving to pick him up. Fun! Karen made my favorites for dinner so we headed over there to eat. I think I may have traumatized her children that evening (sorry Popes you may never get grandchildren).

Matt and our home teacher gave me a blessing that evening and we decided to go try it again. Yes they kept me! I was a 6 and that is why. My contractions according to the monitor were half as strong as they were the first night. Which tells me that those monitors were not reading my contractions accurately because I let me tell you they were not half as strong.

Once they admitted me everything went really smooth. Okay let me rephrase once I got my epidural everything went really smooth. We had to wait a little while for the anesthesiologist and once they get you trapped in those beds they won't let you get up which wasn't comfortable with as strong as my contractions were. The doctor told the nurse as I was dialiated to a 10 and they were prepping me to push that if he was to look at the monitor he wouldn't say I was in labor. Don't worry I reassured him I was in labor! Thirty minutes later we had little Brinley.

There is nothing like holding a new baby in your arms. Nine months of pregnancy, three days of labor and with in minutes all that pain is forgotten as you see this beautiful baby. I would do it all again in a heart beat. You would too if you could hold baby B.
