We officially completed the entire half marathon. All 13.2 miles, without walking. The weather was a perfect, over cast in the low sixtys with little humidity. The course was perfect and flat which is such a blessing. Here are the results:
Matt- Goal 2:00 Actual 2:02 (I was so impressed with his time!)
Mark-Goal 2:30 Actual 2:15

Meg- Goal 2:30 Actual 2:45 (I was a little slower than I had hoped but I held to my goal until mile 8 and the last four where barely above a walk but my hips hurt so bad that I couldn't actually walk I had to keep running.)

Matt and I have been pretty sore but we don't have blue toes or anything just sore muscles. I think Mark should have just run the entire Marathon because he hasn't limped at all. The interesting thing about running races like this one is that at no point do you run out of breath. Your body just starts to hurt and that is what will slow you down. Very different from short races and running in the mountains.
A Valentines Day Nightmare
After we returned back to our house Matt and I went to visit a friend who was celebrating her birthday. We left Keeley with Mark and Gail while we were gone for an hour. We were there for about ten minuets and we got a call.
Mark: "Gail and I were going outside to walk around with Keeley and she fell down the stairs and I think she has broken her leg. I have her calmed down but could you come home."
I freak. We drive 90 the entire way home praying the entire way that our baby is okay and that she will be comforted. I'm telling Matt everything he needs to do while I drive with Keeley in the ambulance.
When we get home we see Gail laying on the ground. It wasn't Keeley that broke her leg but Gail. I still felt so horrible. It took the ambulance 45 minuets to get to the house to get her loaded. She broke her leg in 2 places broke her foot/ankle in one place and dislocated it. The doctors set it but she is still going to need surgery.
Mark and Gail returned from the hospital around 1 am (7 hours after the accident) and drugged Gail up so she could get some rest. They had originally planned on staying with us until Monday but decided to return on Sunday so that Mark could spend Monday trying to get her into a doctor.
Gail kept Keeley the night of the race and all morning while we ran. I just feel so bad that after all she did for us this was the conclusion to her Valentines Day. Please keep her in your prayers as they try to get her into a doctor for surgery.
We love you Grammie!
